Discount Wii Mini Golf Resort Store

Let me start by saying I've tried a few mini golf games for Wii & this is my favorite. (Don't buy Carnival golf-it's a waste of $$). (My review is with the Motion Plus controls). This has a lot of courses; some seem a little similar to each other. The controls are great-it uses the Motion Plus technology if you have it. My mom seems to also like this game-she's older & gets easily frustrated if the controls aren't "pick up & play" & it also needs to be eye-catching graphics. That said, this game has both of the above. It reminds me a little of Hot Shots Golf (i can't remember what system but I want to say Gamecube??). It has a few power-ups to help you out; like pipes closer to the holes, ramps that move the ball faster, etc. I think it's a great game for the $$-I picked it up for $15.

I purchased Mini Golf Resort after playing golf on Wii Sports Resort. Golf was a mini game on Sports Resort, but had very responsive controls, and lent a degree of elegance to the otherwise juvenile gaming lineup. Because Mini Golf Resort was a "golf" game, I expected a similar degree of control. Unfortunately, the only similarity this game held with actual golf was the swing involved.

I could get past the so-so graphics and lack of creativity in the courses if certain details had received greater attention. For example, the character hitting the ball doesn't automatically line up their putt towards the hole. This is a simple fix, so either the designers intentionally seek to disorient the user or they were criminally careless. Likewise disorienting is the overview of each course. Bought it thinking we'd enjoy playing mini golf,there's no instructions on what's going to take place, the ball just goes where it wants to, the courses are designed like a fantasy land with no clear objectives ever. The majority of the holes you have no idea where you're supposed to be putting the ball. There's no views to show you. I'm sorry for anyone who purchases this thinking their getting a mini golf game because its in name only. There are mini golf games included in the Tiger Woods golf that are very good and fun. The mini golf game that came with the Wii Console is 100 times more fun and interesting than this and it was free. Not at all as advertised!!!
