The kit fits around the head unit really tight, but I promise it fits. You have to get both sides of the side with the clips in first and then force the other end on. The directions show that you have to put the side with the clips on the top of the head unit, but doing so will let the bottom end slide out. You have to put the clips on the bottom of the head unit so the dash kit can clip into the little spaces right above the AC adjusters. All in all, a pretty good kit. I did this with a 2001 GTI, it should be the same for the Jetta and so on though.

Fits perfect in a Volskwagen Polo 2003, Its a strong plastic material and keeps a good hold of a heavy Double Din receiver (Pioneer FH-P800BT) with the screws at the sides. The material doesn't stand out, it looks like it came with the car from the fabric so it doesn't look like it doesn't belong there.

Crutchfeild told me there is absolutely no way to get a double din head unit in my Jetta. After looking around at some VW forumes, I was led to this install kit. The part is sturdy, and it blends in with the stock dash. I did have to modify the installation slightly. Not any fault of the product however. The cradle behind the stock stereo had been cut (by me) to acommodate a single din unit, so i had to modify the stock radio cage a little more to mount the double din unit solidly. The only problem I found was the slide out cup holder doesn't open as easy due to the cover contacting the DD dash kit. A few minutes with a fine file fixed that. And it wouldnt be an issue if you have a 2003.5 and up since the cupholders were moved to the center console. Good quality, great price, and i proved the know-it-alls wrong.
